Srikanth joined Udavum Karangal as a mentally
disturbed person. He was born in a good family in Karnataka. Sudden death of parents and the attitude of other family members caused mental imbalance for him. After few months of care and medication Srikanth became normal. But he did not want to go back to his home, he wanted to care for the hundreds of other mentally challenged residents of Udavum Karangal. In due course of time he turned out to be a very good service provider.
Parvathamma joined Udavum Karangal as a distressed person after her husband deserted her. Since she has no issues and her other family members were not ready to take care she had to live in streets which caused severe mental depression. Her longing for children was so much that her depression got cured by caring babies rather than by antidepressants. For the last nine years Parvathamma is an inseparable part of “Pasamalargal” home for babies.
Murugeswari cares for the children with smile against all odds. Her husband a daily wageworker committed a crime and landed up in central prison As there was no one to support the family she was forced to put her own children in a welfare home so that their studies will not be disturbed. While patiently wait for the day when her husband gets released from prison and she can pick up life all over again, she now cares the children at our home with love and dedication.
